Hi, I’m Rebecca Gladstone.

Cantor · Board-Certified Music Therapist · Jewish Educator · Children's Author

I built my work from the places I once felt lost.

Growing up on Long Island, I went through the motions of being Jewish without ever feeling like I truly belonged. And music — something I loved — became a source of stress and shame when I couldn't keep up with lessons as a kid with undiagnosed ADHD.

I came to Miami to study at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, became a Board-Certified Music Therapist, and somewhere along the way — almost by accident — stepped into a cantorial role that changed everything. What started as feeling like an impostor became my calling.

Now I get to be the person I needed: someone who meets you exactly where you are, without judgment, without pressure, and with a whole lot of music.

Finding my voice after losing it

I quit piano. I quit violin. The constant pressure to perform and practice made me dread music entirely — which is a hard thing to admit when music is your life's work now.

It wasn't until I found singing that something clicked. And when I studied music therapy, I understood why: music doesn't have to be about performance. It can be about connection, healing, and joy on your own terms.

That's what I bring to every lesson, every session, and every ceremony.

From feeling like an outsider to becoming a cantor

For a long time, I felt like a stranger in my own faith. The traditions felt hollow. My family was going through the motions, and so was I.

After becoming a music therapist, I was asked to fill a cantorial role — and I almost said no. But something resonated. I began exploring my faith not as an obligation, but as a journey of self-discovery.

Now I help others who felt exactly the way I did find their own authentic connection to Judaism.

My mission is to meet you exactly where you are.

Whether you're exploring music therapy for your child, looking for a cantor who gets it, or just want to finally enjoy playing an instrument — I believe every person deserves a guide who understands what it feels like to struggle, to doubt, and to find their way through.
